Successful independent brokerage joins Carolinas’ real estate leader in Boone
Allen Tate | Howard Hanna has acquired Honey Home Realty, an established real estate firm located in Boone, NC, serving the High Country region.
Honey Home Realty was founded in 2022 by Josh Honeycutt, to serve the community with “a heart to connect with clients and build lifelong relationships.” The company name and tagline “Every bee needs a hive” are a nod to Proverbs 16:24 “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”
Honeycutt, who earned his real estate license in 2018, will join the Allen Tate | Howard Hanna Boone office and retain the Honey Home Realty brand.
Prior to his real estate career, Honeycutt worked in the agricultural industry and owned an independent packaging business. He is also part owner of several other businesses, including Honey Home Builders, Peak Sanitation and a sports fundraising business.
Honeycutt has served as head soccer coach for Watauga High School for the past eight years. He and his wife, Angela, are part-owners of the Appalachian FC and serve on the committee for High Country Young Life. They have two children, Quincy and Ember, who are active in track, soccer and volleyball. They are members of Hope Church and make their home in Boone.
Since 2022, Honey Home Realty has closed 35 transactions totalling $15.7 million in sales.
“I chose Allen Tate | Howard Hanna because our visions to serve our clients with respect and build long-lasting relationships aligned. I felt it would be a partnership where we both could benefit, but most importantly, the clients we serve,” Honeycutt said.
“I’m also excited to join the Official Realtor of App State Athletics. I played soccer for App State in 2000 and I look forward to working with members of the App State Athletics department, coaches and athletes,” he said.
Allen Tate | Howard Hanna is the Carolinas’ leading real estate company, with 14,719 closed transactions and $7.24 billion in closed sales volume in 2024. The 68-year-old company operates more than 70 local real estate offices spanning the Charlotte, Triad, Research Triangle, High Country, Highlands/Cashiers and Asheville/Mountain regions of North Carolina and the Upstate and Low Country regions of South Carolina.
“Josh has invested deeply in the local community and is committed to organizations that make it a better place. We are excited to welcome Honey Home Realty to the Allen Tate | Howard Hanna family and can’t wait to see it grow and thrive,” said Gary Scott, president, Allen Tate| Howard Hanna and Howard Hanna Virginia.
“Honey Home Realty is a perfect fit for Allen Tate | Howard Hanna,” said Tony Jarrett, Allen Tate | Howard Hanna regional vice president. “Josh and his company will bring great things to our clients in the High Country.”
“I’ve known Josh for many years, both professionally and in the community. He is a selfless individual who gave his personal time and resources in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. He’s also a positive role model for young men as head soccer coach at Watauga High School. We’re thrilled to have Josh and Honey Home Realty as part of our team,” said Mark Mashburn, branch leader, Allen Tate | Howard Hanna, Boone and Blowing Rock.
