March 19th is the first day of spring. Is your home ready? As the dark and cold winter days are hopefully numbered, it’s the perfect opportunity to add new life and color with spring decor. Here are some tips to help your home spring forward!
Make an orchid centerpiece
Orchids are beautiful and perfect to welcome spring into your home. Many people fear orchids because they can be difficult to keep alive. Most orchids die from overwatering, so the best advice is to water every other week and place them in indirect sunlight. Two orchids placed in a planter filled with moss is a stunning centerpiece for your island or breakfast table.
Add color outside
Now’s the time to start thinking about replacing winter florals like pansies with spring and summer annuals like geraniums, marigolds, and petunias. You can also plan a garden for shrubs and trees now–think hydrangeas, gardenias, crape myrtles, and more.
Spruce up your front door
Inject some color and create curb appeal when you add a spring wreath. We love this non-traditional wreath, perfect for spring! You can also add large planters flanking your front door and drop in evergreens or ferns to give your front door some color. Add houseplants for an immediate burst of color
Add color naturally when you incorporate houseplants into your home. For those of us with black thumbs, plants like pothos, monstera, boston ferns or snake plants are hard to kill and thrive on neglect. Place your plant babies in colorful planters and you’ve got a winning combination in terms of bringing spring to your home.
Look into fake florals
