The 264-acre Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Carl Sandburg, the prominent American author, historian, and social activist. Admission is free to enter the park, access the bookstore and information on the ground floor of the Sandburg Home, walk the 5+ miles of hiking trails, and visit the farm and dairy goats. East Flat Rock Park
This 7.93-acre dog-friendly public park is a great place to bring your pet in Flat Rock. The park features two rentable spaces on the property: one picnic shelter and one gazebo. Open to the public are a playground, swings, a quarter-mile paved walking trail, and restrooms. The back area includes more walking trails and recreational fields.
