Craft your perfect beer day in Brevard, NC

Last Updated on October 9, 2025

Just a short drive to the southwest, the adventurous small town of Brevard has discovered the best way to keep up with Asheville’s craft beer frenzy. They have placed three breweries just off Main Street, with another two just a short bike ride away!

If you’re looking for things to do in Brevard, why not enjoy a relaxing day of sampling fine local beer? Here’s how to craft your perfect beer day in Brevard, NC.

Start your day @ the Blue Ridge Parkway

There’s no more refreshing way to start your day than by taking in the views from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The gentle winding of the road and stunning vistas create memorable moments 469 miles long. Fall is an especially popular time for the Parkway, as the Blue Ridge Mountains take on all the reds, golds, and oranges of the changing leaves. Most visitors arrive as motorists, but the stretch of the Parkway around Brevard is also popular among road cyclists.

Find your place @ Ecusta Brewing

Ecusta Brewing is located right off the Brevard Bike Path, less than a mile from Pisgah National Forest, with plenty of outdoor seating. If you ask us, that makes it the perfect place to grab a beer after a day on the trail. But it’s also a great place to start the perfect beer day in Brevard. Their taproom features signature brews and a few seasonals, and leashed dogs are always welcome at their outside picnic tables. The word “ecusta” comes from Cherokee, meaning “distant place.”

Seize the Dale @ Oskar Blues Brewery

Just down the road, Colorado-based Oskar Blues’ East Coast facility is one of the largest beer producers in the region. With an outdoor patio bar, the Tasty Weasel taproom is open daily and is a great place to spend a day. The CHUBwagon food truck serves up CHUBurgers to accompany your beer. Pisgah National Forest is nearby and offers a number of trails to explore. Plus, they always have something fun scheduled. Check out their calendar for regular music and community events.

Take a test ride @ The Hub and Pisgah Tavern

There’s no better place for awesome bicycles, killer outdoor gear, friendly service, and cold craft beer than the Hub. The Hub offers the latest in demos and high-end mountain bike rentals, giving you the option to try something new before you commit. When your outdoor adventure is finished, come back for a local brew at Pisgah Tavern, which happens to be nestled within The Hub. Everyone, including your furry friends, will love their outdoor seating space.

Take it to go @ Brevard Brewing Company

In 2012, Brevard Brewing Company became the first brewery to open in Transylvania County. This family-owned business is located on Main Street and specializes in refreshing, handcrafted lagers. Tired of sitting inside? As of February 2024, downtown Brevard has a six-block social district in the heart of town. The district allows people to responsibly drink alcoholic beverages purchased from participating businesses, including Brevard Brewing, as they walk through a defined area of downtown.

Try something new @ Griffon & Sphynx

One of the hottest blocks in Brevard is the town’s bustling Lumber District. Once a place to pick up milled lumber from the surrounding forests, today the district is making a name for itself as a destination for antiques, fine dining, and live music. Griffon & Sphynx is a new addition to the neighborhood, offering more than a dozen expertly crafted beers brewed onsite. Ask award-winning brewmaster Wayne Wambles about his pets, which have inspired the name of the brewery.

End the day @ Noblebräu Brewing

Noblebräu Brewing opened their doors in November of 2020 with a modest 5-barrel system and a desire to continually create new recipes and brew different styles. While you will always find the German Pilsner on the draft list, the rest of the menu is always changing. The brewery was built next door to the event venue 185 King Street, and now both businesses run side by side.

185 King Street combines music and great food in one welcoming venue in downtown Brevard. The business opened in 2009 as the first entertainment business in Brevard’s Lumberyard Arts District with a mission of supporting local musicians. Today, the district is flourishing and the business continues their original mission of supporting local artists. Most nights, you’ll find a new artist or band sharing their favorite tunes.
