Grass Root Gardens

Since 1980, the Artley brothers have grown Grass Root Gardens into one of the best known independent nurseries in Haywood County. This independent garden center specializes in perennial gardens for sun and shade, as well as unique and unusual evergreens and shrubs.  They also offer expert advice on plant selection and landscaping. When you visit, take your time walking through the gardens and greenhouses. Take in the tapestry of light, colors, and textures surrounding you. Grass Root Garden offers much that’s not available at the “big box” stores.

Sloan’s Plant Farm

At Sloan’s Plant Farm, their Bethel-area greenhouses are their retail location. For over 40 years, they have grown a wide selection of greenhouse plants, including bedding and vegetable plants, herbs, perennials, potted annuals, flowering and foliage hanging baskets, and fall mums. The farm is open year round for retail and wholesale purchases. By appointment only from November to the beginning of March and for large groups.
