In today’s post, we’ve rounded up 7 fun holiday-themed food and decor ideas that will make your holiday extra joyful. Time to get crafty or get cooking!
Paper bag stars
This insanely affordable DIY is a true show-stopper. This craft requires scissors, paper bags and a glue gun. Easily transform your space into a winter wonderland with this fun craft.
Saltine Toffee
If you’ve got 30 mintues, you’ve got a yummy dessert to feed a crowd. If you’ve spaced on neighbor gifts, this is also a great one to whip up in very little time and run over. You’ll find the recipe here.
Make real eggnog
Those firmly in the camp of “no eggnog, ever” will likely be changing their tune after taking a sip of this festive drink. The recipe linked in the post above is made with spirits; here is a great non-alcoholic eggnog recipe.
Orange Garland
Looking to take your garland, centerpiece or tablescape to the next level? Nothing elevates a holiday arrangement quite like dried oranges.
Instructions:
- You will need 4-5 large oranges, maybe less, depending on how long you want your garland to be
- Thinly slice oranges and place on baking pan
- Cook at 170 for 4-6 hours until dried out. (The oranges should continue drying over night)
- Poke holes in dried oranges and string with twine, fishing wire or thin ribbon
Holiday tablescape
Trader Joes or another local grocery store with plenty of florals is a great destination to pick up all the essentials for this all-real tablescape. Look for eucalyptus, persimmons, artichokes, cranberries, and pomegranate to complete this pretty centerpiece.
Make hoilday-themed ice cubes
Even your ice cubes can spread holiday cheer when you make them holiday-themed! Most recipes use plain old ice cube trays, but we think this idea would be beautiful with spherical ice mold trays. Use oranges, rosemary, pomegranate, or even cranberries to add some whimsy to your drinks this December.
Try these festive folding techniques for your cloth napkins
Speaking of tablescape ideas, don’t forget about dressing up your napkins. Follow the diy tutorial above to fold your napkin like a Christmas tree or try one of these other creative napkin folds to spruce up your table.
