Marvin Price, director of business recruitment for the Charlotte Regional Partnership, was recently presented with the North Carolina Economic Development Association (NCEDA) Emerging Executive of the Year Award.

The award, sponsored by Allen Tate Relocation for the second year, honors Price’s dedication and leadership within NCEDA and among economic development professionals across North Carolina.

Ryan Wetherington, vice president of Allen Tate Relocation, presented Price with the award June 13 at the NCEDA annual meeting held at the Holiday Inn at Wrightsville Beach, N.C. The conference attracted more than 300 business executives and industry stakeholders.

“I’m both honored and privileged to be recognized by the North Carolina Economic Development Association as their Emerging Executive of The Year. It has been a humbling experience to represent a community that’s growing so rapidly, but hasn’t lost its Southern charm,” said Price.

Price holds a masters of community planning and economic development from Auburn University and an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Montevallo. He joined the Charlotte Regional Partnership in 2016 as a project manager and was promoted to his current role in January.

“We cannot think of a more deserving young executive than Marvin Price. He is a natural leader and continues to shape the Charlotte region’s business community through his business recruitment efforts” said Wetherington.

Wetherington, outgoing Emerging Executives Committee chair, received a Citation of Appreciation for his leadership and service to the organization and was named to a three-year term on the NCEDA Board of Directors.

NCEDA is the leading statewide association for professional economic developers and their allies in North Carolina. For more than 50 years, NCEDA and its nearly 600 members have led efforts to promote North Carolina as an ideal destination for business investment.

The Emerging Executives Committee provides a forum for young economic development professionals to network and gain professional development.
