Funds raised stay in local communities across NC and SC

Since 1998, Allen Tate Realtors® and employees have gathered annually to raise money for public education in the Carolinas through the Allen Tate FUNday event.

This year, the company raised more than $145,000, bringing the FUNday lifetime total to $2.66 million.

FUNday is a fundraising event where agents and professional staff come together in a social setting, with vendor sponsors. It is part of the Tate Cares giving umbrella, along with initiatives to benefit arts and cultural organizations and United Way agencies. The lifetime Tate Cares contribution over the past 25 years is $5.78 million.

After a two-year hiatus from in-person events because of COVID, FUNday returned with four regional fundraising celebrations held in September and October.

This fall’s events included a Western-themed gathering, “Boots and Buckles,” at Legacy Stables and Events in Winston-Salem, N.C.; a casual outdoor event, “Food Trucks and Field Day,” at The Mint Museum Randolph in Charlotte, N.C.; a retro-themed social, “Dance Through the Decades,” at the Junior Woman’s Club in Raleigh, N.C.; and a costume party, “FUNday Fall Festival,” at the Saskatoon Lodge in Greenville, S.C.

More than 850 Allen Tate Realtors, employees, vendors, and guests attended.

Festivities included silent and live auctions, raffles, wine pulls, games, live music, and other activities to raise funds for local schools and educational foundations.

Allen Tate residential leaders served as regional FUNday chairs:

  • Triad and High Country: Dawn Allred, chair, and Beverly Foster, vice chair
  • Charlotte: Matt Hermansen, Sandi Salisbury, Alison Smith and Angela Standish, chairs
  • Triangle: Teri Fountain, chair
  • Upstate: Kelly Smith, chair and Jordan Bowles, co-chair

“It was wonderful to return to our in-person FUNday events this year. There is so much energy and fun when we gather to raise money for public education. We love to do it for the kids,” said Pat Riley, president and CEO, Allen Tate Companies.

More than 30 local school systems, foundations, and education organizations in North and South Carolina receive support from Allen Tate FUNday.
