Sometimes it can be challenging to figure out how to decorate a large wall in your home. Rather than coming up blank, why not take some inspiration from some of our favorite ways to decorate an empty wall?

Dress up an empty wall with trim

Adding unique trim like board and batten or shiplap is one of our favorite ways to turn a boring wall into something exciting. One of the best things about this idea? It’s a project you can complete yourself in often one or two weekends, and it doesn’t break the bank!

Get creative with peel and stick wallpaper

If you haven’t already heard– wallpaper is back! Many homeowners jumped on the wallpaper bandwagon decades ago when it was majorly popular, then instantly regretted it when they grew tired of the pattern. Now, thanks to peel and stick wallpaper, you can easily install and remove wallpaper whenever you want. Just look at what peel and stick wallpaper did for Kera’s space!

Install a gallery wall

Adding a gallery wall to an otherwise blank space is one of the cheapest ways you can transform a space! Mix and match what you put in the frames with a combination of artwork and/or prints and some of your favorite family photographs. If you don’t already know, Etsy or Minted are great places to get really nice prints you can inexpensively frame. We love how Kate has transformed her boring bedroom wall by just adding a collection of framed art and photographs–swipe to see what it looked like before!

Add a console table

If you have a large blank space in your entry way, a hallway, or stair landing, adding a console table is an easy solution to decorate an empty wall. Fill the space with a mirror or artwork, lamps and even baskets–much like Erin has below.

Try an open back bookcase

You can easily transform a bland space with an open back bookcase. The trick to making this work is to correctly style the bookcase, making it visually appealing, while showcasing your personality.
